Novels aren’t the only place where written treasures are hidden in the narrative. Some are revealed in the chapters of a novella or the paragraphs of a short story. My walking buddies and I decided to make a range of written material available to other hikers who frequent the Buffalo Creek Preserve and Trail.
The Senior Savvy Trail Tales story this month was written and told by Chuck Thurston. It is titled “Coast Guard Memories.”
About Chuck Thurston. Chuck is a retired IBMer, married to Heidi Wibroe Thurston. Both are published authors. In another life, Chuck flew in US Coast Guard search and rescue aircraft as a radio/radarman. Chuck has published two books of essays and remembrances – Senior Scribbles Unearthed, and Senior Scribbles Second Dose. The books are available at Amazon.com.
