Thousands are celebrating Memorial Day weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Just down the road, artists, performers, fellow authors, and patrons of the arts started their celebration with a breakfast sponsored by the Cabarrus Arts Council. Others are hiking a mountain trail or watching ocean waves. Let's take a moment to honor the brave men and women in uniform and their families who make these pastimes possible. The Hidden Treasure of Dutch Buffalo Creek considers their sacrifice. Learn more at www.hiddentreasurenovels.com.
History, Fiction and Fantasy
Another month evaporated in the sands of time. Earlier this week I had the privilege of hosting a book reading at the Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society Museum in Mt. Pleasant, NC. The building was once part of a local college with a rich history. I imagined the spirit of so many former students in the room, joining the participants who shared a part of their Sunday afternoon.
The staff at the museum provided numerous resource references that were incorporated into my debut novel, The Hidden Treasure of Dutch Buffalo Creek. More about the book is available at www.hiddentreasurenovels.com. An abbreviated version of the taped session is embedded in this blog post. Discover your treasure!
