Yesterday I honored him with a visit to the Reed Gold Mine in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. On an open field period reenactors staged a cannon demonstration. Some wore the uniform of British soldiers, others Colonial militia. A few represented the Hessians who supported the cause of King George III.
On this Father’s Day I pay special tribute to my father and to all dads everywhere. After the cannon of life is spent, after the cloud of life’s canon powder is carried away by the wind, their memory endures. Their contribution is recorded in my book, The Hidden Treasure of Dutch Buffalo Creek. To learn more visit my website www.hiddentreasurenovels.com.
